Caring for your Cup or Goblet

With appropriate cleaning and maintenance, your handcrafted wooden goblet is designed to endure for a lifetime.

Recommended Practices:

Hand wash using warm water and a mild soap following each use.

Immediately after washing, dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.

To preserve its natural beauty and structural integrity, periodically recondition your wooden product with a food-safe oil such as mineral oil, boiled linseed oil, butcher block oil, or my Wood Butter.

When reconditioning is necessary, apply oil sparingly and work it into the wood with a soft, clean cloth, ensuring coverage of both the interior and exterior surfaces.

Prohibited Practices:

Do not place wood items in the dishwasher, microwave, or oven.

Avoid leaving beverages in your goblet for extended periods (e.g., overnight), as this may lead to staining of the wood, particularly with red wine.

Do not allow the goblet to remain in standing water or filled with water.

Refrain from allowing the wood to dry out completely without being oiled for extended durations.

Do not utilise vegetable or olive oils for the reconditioning of your wooden product, as these oils are prone to rancidity over time.
